Meet the FCSSC Team!

Kyla (she/her): Founder

Kyla founded FCSSC in August of 2009 after moving to London from Ottawa, where she played football with the Ottawa Sport & Social Club (OSSC, founded by a dear friend). She created FCSSC so that she could enjoy the fun, friends, and community connection that are at the core of club life. From 3 sports and 200 players in the first season, to over 40 leagues and 4000 players a season now, FCSSC is a wonderful example of, "if you build it, they will come." Kyla will be forever grateful to the city of London, and all of the amazing people who have played with FCSSC over the years, for making play her life's work.

Dave (he/they): Director

Dave joined the club in 2022 after 12 years at the YMCA working in Aquatics, Outdoor Education, Youth Engagement and overseeing fitness facilities. He led staff teams large and small in trying to provide great options for healthy living to communities across Southwestern Ontario. He has a passion for the outdoors, sports and anything he can do with his two dogs Charlie and Jimmy. Dave is a committed lifelong learner demonstrated by an addiction to school (he has Masters degrees in both Education and Business Administration) and volunteer roles as a board director with both Humana Community Services and Ronald McDonald House Charities. Dave got into adult leagues by co-founding Summit Sports last year to bring competitive volleyball back to London (despite being a mediocre volleyball player).

Dave currently plays Ultimate and Volleyball and is trying to visit every National Park in Canada. He is very excited about the Social in Sport and Social and to be starting a new adventure in the Forest City.

Nick (he/him): Club Manager

Nick joined FCSSC in 2026 with a love for sport and people. With a background in HR and a CHRL designation, Nick brings a strong people-first approach to everything he does. At his core, he is someone who loves coaching, motivating others, and helping people feel confident, capable, and part of something bigger.

Sports have always been a huge part of Nick’s life. Growing up, he played basketball, volleyball, and baseball, but lately, he has fully embraced the shift to pickleball, golf and cornhole, where things can get surprisingly competitive!

Outside of work, Nick is all about family. He has been married to his wife for five years, and together they spend a lot of time with their seven nieces and nephews, meaning there's never a dull moment. Whether it be backyard games, competitions, or just finding new ways to have fun together, he is always in if a game is involved!

Lana (she/her): League Coordinator

Lana joined the FCSSC team in 2024, bringing with her an Advanced Diploma in Sports and Recreation Management from Lambton College, and a Bachelor of Human Kinetics in Sports Management and Leadership from the University of Windsor. Lana is passionate about sports, especially hockey, and has more recently gotten into snowboarding. She loves the outdoors, country music, hanging our with her dog, and a great reality tv show on a rainy day. Lana loves playing Softball and Volleyball with FCSSC - especially the social aspect, and is always ready to go out after a game with her team!

Abby (she/they): League Coordinator

Abby joined the FCSSC office team in 2026, following the conclusion of a graduate certificate in Sport Marketing at Fanshawe College. A lifelong sports diehard, Abby can typically be spotted repping team merch of some kind, whether it be soccer or hockey, and heard talking stats and scores. Her favourite teams are Arsenal and AFC Toronto, two things you should only bring up if you’ve got nowhere to be! She loves travelling, their cats, and a good book, as well as spending time with the friends they’ve made playing in FCSSC’s Queer Leagues!
