Been wanting to try pickleball, but not sure where to start? This is the IDEAL LEAGUE for anyone wanting to learn in a fun and welcoming environment, with others at your skill level!
Intended for beginners, our 6-week instructor-led Rookies Only Pickleball Introduction will give you:
- A recommended introduction to the game for new players and beginners, setting the foundation for future pickleball development and participation
- Lessons starting with the basics of the game such as rules, scoring, paddle grip, court movement and positioning
- Learning and practice of essential skills like serve & return, forehands, backhands, volleys and dinks
- Directed gameplay with courtside coaching, with and against other rookies
- No equipment required - we provide paddles, balls, and everything you need to get started!
Registration for this program is individual only, but pairs and small groups are welcome! Each person just has to sign up independently.
Classes are formed by grouping members with similar levels of experience together, so you'll learn and practice the pickleball skills most relevant to your game. Listed friend/partner requests will be respected, but we cannot guarantee which one-hour timeslot you will play in. Please be prepared to play at any of the times listed.

FCSSC Rookie Pickleball (Development) is considered a "Step 2" to the Rookie Pickleball (Introduction) program, designed for those who have previously participated in our Rookie (Instructional) or Rookie (Introduction) programs, understand the rules, and/or want to build on the fundamental skills. It focuses on in-game coaching to help develop strategy and decision-making on the court - similar to our previous Rookie League program.
FCSSC Pickleball (Beginner) is a non-instructed program where you can play games with and against other beginners! All players with a basic understanding of rules and scoring are welcome.
